Our course falls in line with the SETPD guidelines- skills for education and personal development.
During the course you will complete set criteria for hair and beauty, giving you both practical skills and knowledge to get you started in the hair and beauty industry.
Our main goal is to bridge the gap between E levels to level 1 and to have you feeling confident and with the right levels to get you into college, at level 1. Functional skills and employability will play a part in helping you achieve this alongside what you will learn about the industry.
We aim to provide practical knowledge and work experience in our own newly created salon. Providing you with the routines and skills you will need in each treatment we teach. Based at our High Wycombe center, you will be required to attend on a Tues and/ or Thursday to complete your course.
You will be required to be hands on, delivering treatments to the best of your ability, guided by our beauty tutor who has over 20 years of experience. You will be required to do formative and summative practical assessments in order to progress through your course.
The language of summative and formative assessment is used to distinguish between how assessment is used for different purposes. In a nutshell, formative assessment helps guide further learning; summative assessment evaluates learning at the end of a period of study by comparing it against a standard or benchmark.
