A Different Kind of Learning Environment

The NMT Enrichment Centre Aylesbury is designed for young people who need something different from traditional education.

Based in the building many local families still know as the Healthy Living Centre, our Aylesbury provision offers a calm, welcoming and supportive environment where young people aged 16–25 can rebuild confidence, develop independence and take meaningful steps towards their future. The building has long been part of the local community and continues to provide a place where people can learn, connect and grow.

Our mission is simple:

We help young people rediscover their potential and take steps toward a future they can be proud of — through learning that leads to real opportunity. It’s education with a difference — and it works.

Whether a learner arrives feeling stuck, uncertain or ready for a fresh start, our role is to help them discover what they’re capable of and support them to move forward with confidence.

Believe in Yourself… We Do!

Many of the young people who attend our Aylesbury centre have experienced challenges that have affected their confidence in education.

That’s why relationships come first.

We take time to understand each learner as an individual, recognising their strengths, interests and ambitions. Our approach focuses on encouragement, practical achievement and helping young people build trust in their own abilities.

Our mantra, “Believe in Yourself… We Do!”, isn’t just something we say. It’s reflected in how we work every day.

Learning Through Real Experience

One of the most exciting developments at the Enrichment Centre is the opening of our new community café.

The café will continue a valued service that has long been part of the building while creating meaningful training and work experience opportunities for learners.

Young people will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in areas such as:

  • Customer service
  • Food preparation
  • Teamwork
  • Workplace communication
  • Time management
  • Problem solving
  • Hospitality and catering skills
  • Professional behaviours

This real-world environment allows learners to develop confidence and transferable employability skills while contributing to something that benefits the wider community.

For many young people, learning becomes more meaningful when they can see the impact of their work. The café provides exactly that opportunity.

Personalised Learning and Support

Every learner’s journey is different.

Our Aylesbury centre offers a flexible and personalised approach that helps young people progress at a pace that works for them. Programmes combine education, personal development and practical experience, helping learners prepare for adulthood, employment and future opportunities.

Learners can access:

  • Functional Skills English and Maths
  • Personal and social development
  • Employability and workplace skills
  • Independence and life skills training
  • Community-based projects and activities
  • Small-group learning
  • Individualised support

Success looks different for everyone. For some learners it’s gaining qualifications; for others it’s increased confidence, improved attendance or taking their first steps towards employment.

Every achievement counts.

Specialist Support for SEMH and EHCP Learners

As an SEMH specialist provider, we support young people with social, emotional and mental health needs, alongside learners with SEND and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Our nurturing environment is particularly well suited to young people who benefit from smaller groups, personalised support and a less formal learning environment.

We work closely with families, local authorities and professionals to create programmes that help learners achieve outcomes that matter to them, both now and in the future.

Young people who retain an EHCP can continue accessing full-time education up to the age of 25.

Part of the Aylesbury Community

The Enrichment Centre is more than a place to gain qualifications.

It is a place where young people become part of a community, develop a sense of belonging and discover new opportunities.

From community projects to the new café enterprise, learners are encouraged to engage with the world around them, build relationships and develop the skills needed for adult life.

We believe that education works best when it feels relevant, purposeful and connected to real life.

Education with a Difference

At NMT Enrichment Centre Aylesbury, we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their previous experiences.

By combining personalised support, practical learning and genuine opportunities to grow, we help young people rediscover their potential and take positive steps towards a future they can be proud of.

Because when somebody believes in you, it’s easier to believe in yourself.

And that’s what education with a difference looks like.

Finding our Milton Keynes centre should be really easy. We’re in a small retail park called Duckworth Court which is near Lidl. You can see you’ve arrived at the right place because you should see our logo above the entrance to the court.  NMT Milton Keynes is in the far right of the car park – you can’t miss us.  Make sure you log your car registration on the tablet at reception – we don’t want you to get a ticket!
